AEC Doors Problem

Whenever I try to place a door, I start with left to right insertion points and then modify the dimensions.  However, the door always comes in at a rotated angle, usually 90 degrees. I can correct thisof course, however, with this process a void is not being cut into the wall.  What am I doing wrong?

The video was helpful, however, that process doesn't work for me. I've provided a screenshot showing how the sliding window looks when placed into a wall.  The other screenshot shows how a door cuts into the wall but always comes in rotated even when using snaps. I keep having to select the object and rotate it to the correct angle. Frustrating.
