Addons for vertex Animation in 3ds Max

Hi guys!

Just a simple question. Is anyone aware of an addon that would allow me to use the Freeform tools to animate vertices like I can using the modeling tools?

I have approached a part of my project where I will need to animate vertex by vertex but I find that I would rather have a root canal done then try animating this way simply because I find the default modeling tools to be absolutely awful for animating this way. Yes, I know how to use them well, they just flat out suck for doing vertex animation.

I have been searching for Animation addons that might help with this. I have not been able to find anything. Anyone aware of any addons that might help?

Ok, this is weird. I think I may have uncovered a bug. Basically, if I make some vertex animation keys and then use any tool from the Freeform menu such as Soften/Relax, it immediately deletes all my animation keys. Only it is very hit or miss. Sometimes it gets rid of them. Sometimes it does not. Anyone sen this before?

Hi,

Until now I never had this issue of animation keys disappearing after using the freeForm tools,

Maybe I need to do more tests,

Anyway, for the original request, I think the alternative is to create copies from the original object,

Then modify these copies(keeping the number of vertices the same), then adding a Morpher modifier

To the original object, and use the modified copies as targets. You can animate the transition from the original

To each target at a certain frame and Max will take care of the in-betweens. You can also create a blend

Among the many targets at a certain moment. For example, you can say I want the original to look

Only 30% like the first target and 60% like the second on frame 40, etc,...

I think you can achieve what are you looking for using this method.
