3dsmax Virus Again New virus

Hi so i recently saw that two new virus strands have come to 3dsmax ALC3 alpha and DesireFX CA

ALC3 alpha:
- Can gather personal info and send to remote address
- Can download self updates and run modifications!

DesireFX CA:
- Can rename all objects in scene
- Can create text in scene (Shapes -> Text) with site advertising
- Can write site advertising in File Info
- Can freeze viewport

From a work perspective this is really bad, we have some really bad situations with the first virus like two years back, and autodesk took almost a year to launch security tools, the question is, is Autodesk updating security tools for this new strands?  Or we need to pray and wait?

look at this developer  https://3dground.net/prod/prune-scene-2180817

Ant news on this would be appreciated

3ds max doesn't contain a virus no official software does if you download or brought it from an authorised/authorized dealer.

the only way you would get a virus is if you downloaded a file that contains one and you did not scan it with your virus checker, or you downloaded 3ds max illegally.

if it was a file you download then i would contact the site where you downloaded the file from and tell tehm the file you downloaded had a virus.

mmmm well, there are a couple of 3dsmax virus out there, so yes there are 3dsmax virus, they just reside inside max files and no antivirus program will detect them. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Potent...

I can see your same answer to the sini thread a while back. just search for it, you will find it.

that is not a virus a virus is an encrypted file that once you download it, the virus will infects your computer just like the common cold effects the human body. that is why software company made virus checkers.

that file is a maxscript error and why autodesk doesn't support third party software, you need to go to the company who made that software to get support

mmm well, so autodesk release an utility that clean your 3dsmax installation because the virus checkers didn't get it. Understanded. Any one else that wants to chat about it?

the virus checker did not pick up anything because it's not a virus it's a bugs that comes with third party software.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/clean-uninstall

if you download that third party software again then you are gonna getg the same error bug, and you are gonna start a new thread and bitching saying it's a virus, when i don't think you know what is the difference between a virus a bug.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

We are investigating a new MAXScript-based malware that may corrupt the 3ds Max program and files. Customers who suspect their 3ds Max program has been impacted should contact Autodesk customer support. This is an ongoing investigation, so we will share more information as it becomes available.

For more information, please see this article, and if you have any other questions please let me know. Thanks!
