Hello, I wanted to export my 3dsmax files as .obj ones but theres no option to do that on the 2017 version, only allowing me to save on .max. There was a post saying to just add .obj at the end of the file name, I asked someone who used OBJ to try and import it in, but they said it worked but didn't show the object.
Any way to fix this issue?

It should available as an export file format option in the Export dialogue in Max 2017. See screenshot below.
Works fine for me. As far as I know every version of max for at least 10 years (probably a lot longer) has the .obj export option.
