3DS Max UVs resetting issue

Hi,
Over the past few days, I have been encountering an issue with my UVs getting reset on some of my meshes. When I collapse the stack to export my mesh the UV data is lost - also when I go to create my lightmaps on the 2nd UV channel the UV data for channel 1 is lost. I'm having to manually save out the UVs to ensure that once I've created my lightmaps on the 2nd UV channel I can load back the UVs for channel 1. The issue is only affecting channel 1 for some reason - my 2nd channel lightmaps do not get reset.
Im using 3DS Max 2016.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a possible fix, please?
