3ds max path deform 'move to path' button missing

As seen in this video there is a feature I want to learn to use, but it seems absent in my version. Here is the video:

man is this site ever difficult to insert images in the right place! Anyways.. you can see from both images that one has the button and one that does not. I am using 3dsMax 2017 (im not sure which version is being used in the video)

Can anyone tell me where this feature went, or how I might go about accomplishing the same thing in the video using 3dsMax 2017?

Also it seems that the version I am using behaves differently than what I am seeing in other people's videos.. For example, when I create a line, and use this as the chosen path for the path deform, instead of my cylinder following the path I chose, it uses some new path called Gizmo. Please see attached video:

I am not sure what I am missing here, but any insight is appreciated.

That's the Path Deform WSM (world space mod.)

 hi i have a problem can anyone pls help

i have animated an object in 3ds max using path deform WSM now i want the object to retain its animation but i want to remove the path so that i can move or export the object is there anyway to do it?
