3ds max on new Windows 11 ARM

Hello,

After Microsoft announce their new laptops on ARM chips, I have a question regarding support of 3ds max on those laptops. Will new laptop run 3ds max?

Probably not

Currently it only works on

64-bit Intel® or AMD® multi-core processor with SSE4.2 instruction set

the whole world is switching to ARM chipsets... but the autodesk continues to DO NOTHING in this direction. It's a shame, but it looks like we'll soon lose 3DS Max as an entity.

Soon Nvidia will release its very efficient ARM laptops and we Autodesk users will be forced to use the old power-hungry x86... it makes no sense in laptops

I am running windows 11 pro via VMware fusion on macbook pro m4 max and its working just fine... smooth and fast...

Interesting! How well does this work with 3ds Max features requiring a GPU, e.g. OSL viewport shaders or denoising?

do you use windows arm?

Just checked in system info… version win 11 pro… running via vmware
fusion… M4 max ...64bit arm based processor
so not sure if it is arm version of windows or the normal one...
