i have download a model from 3Dsky (well, lots) i'm trying to get the materials to come with the model. here is what i did.

FIle/ Refence/ Asset Tracking Toggle/

Selected all missing paths, right clicked and pointed to the new path location. status shows OK...hit refresh...model is still black, no materials...so, i go to my material library and it says missing materials. I'm stummp!

i had a buddy do the same process as we ZOOMED and his work fine...thoughts?

Just to confirm, is it missing materials or textures? Missing textures can be fixed with the Asset Tracker but missing materials implies that you're missing a renderer (ex: V-Ray).

i am rendering with Arnold, do you think that is the issue?
i did the asset tracking toggle and it shows that the path is correct. but in the material editor they are missing.

Depends on the material missing. Can you post a screenshot of the material editor with the missing material selected?

3dsky models are made for corona and/or vray and they use materials specific for those render engines. That is why you have missing materials reported. You could use built-in scene converter to convert that scene to arnold, but i am not sure of the end result.
