3DS MAX 2016 scaling problem on high dpi screen

Hi all:

I found that the UI and text is extremely small on my 13'' mac display. And I tried to scale it, didn't work. I know 2017 version solved the issue, but i am not sure if it is compatible to the 2016 version since my school use 2016 version. If anyone have any troubleshooting idea would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

Support for 4k and HDMI screens started in 3ds Max 2017, seems like you already knew this. There are a couple of options here:

  • You could try app scaling, as described here for 2016.
  • The method I would recommend however is to simply use 2017 on your computer, as it supports your screen, and save the files as the 2016 version by using the save as type option.
