hello,

I am having trouble loading 3ds max, everytime I load it the file crashes and an error message appears saying 'an error has occurred and the application will now close. do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?' and then everything closes.

ive reinstalled the program but it still happens.

Thanks,

Chris

another unhandling error, 3ds max has stop interacting with windows. doesn't matter how many times you install it and uninstall 3ds max this will always happens.

the only way you thing you can do is update the hotfix and add the lastest service if you have no already done so. try resetting your user profile https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Resett...

do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?' that means it will create a autobackup in the 3ds max autobackup file in your windows documents folder,

try merging the old scene into new scene file and save it as a new file name and delete the old one don't just overwrite it.

you can also upload the file and see if another person has the same issue, they mite beale to give you a work around.

the only ones we have found is when your using the AEC extended creating a window/door and you clone them acrosss and then max crashes. you will need to divide the  AEC wall segments. when i try that max still crashes.

instead of cloning the doors or windows you will just need to recreate them and not clone them!
