2025 material/map browser previews not caching

Hi, I recently installed max 2025. Having one issue on both workstations... the previews in the material/map browser are not saved between sessions. Every time I open a material library there is a lag time while I wait for them to render. The next time I open max, the previews are gone and have to reload again. In version 2024 these were cached but wouldn't update unless you clicked the teapot in Slate. So it seems this issue was fixed, but a little too much?

I'm surprised that I can't find anyone else with this issue, so am hoping it's just a matter of a tickbox that needs to be ticked?

I have the same issue. I think it's a bug. There are a number of bugs in Slate in Max 2025. I've resorted to turning off the icons and displaying only text so things move more smoothly in Slate. Even after the icons regenerate, Slate still lags even if I have icons on. I have a powerful desktop machine, and it's still laggy with icon images turned on. They are nice to see, but for now, I recommend just turning them off and let's hope it's corrected in Max 2026, which is due shortly.
