2016 Layer Explorer Auto-expands columns

Hi,

Is there a way to stop the Layer Explorer menu from automatically expanding the column sizes?

When I expand a layer, the Layer Explorer menu auto expands the Name column to show the entire name. But when I close the layer, it keeps the column is the expanded size.

This drives me insane because I have objects with super long names so I'm always having to scroll over to find the freeze/unfreeze button, freeze/unfreeze the objects, close the layer, then resize the columns to make the Layers Explorer menu a reasonable size, then go back to work.

This could all be avoided if the columns simplys stayed the size I set them at.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Any Luck?  This bugs the hell out of me, too.

Yeah, probably should have posted my results.

I started a dialog with Autodesk re: this topic as well as the fact that nested layers automatically unhide if you hide then unhide the main layer they are nested within.  (I've lost multiple over-night renders because of this.)

After a few email exchanges (with a super helpful tech support rep BTW), I was informed that unfortunately there are no fixes for these but that the developers were aware of these issues and eventually they will be fixed in one of the service packs but there is no timeframe for when they will be fixed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.  Just keep up to date on the service packs and keep your fingers crossed I guess.
