I reported this a couple of versions ago, and it's still not fixed.
If you attempt to chamfer a vertex that has more than one vertex occupying the same space (ie from a boolean operation), Max will crash 100% of the time. (see pic)
Just putting it out there, as it's still in version 2020.
Thanks for mentioning this. Out of curiosity do you happen to have a max scene file with this particular error in it? If so it makes it easier for a developer to more quickly reproduce and investigate what is going on.
the crash dump happens in a lot of 3ds max versions it could be just the a model, or the whole file. the only way to read dump file it is if you have the MS debugger and the MS symptoms and you need to know what your looking at. the MS debugger and the MS symptoms is the only way to read the dump files. If you to open them in any other word application then it will look like nonsense.
Have to agree with @logan_foster_adsk . Without posting the the problematic geometry, it`s almost impossible to debug this.
Can you upload the .Max file as well? This gives a better indication of what is going on in the scene.
I had no problems with the chamfer modifier in 2020 on your model @ricvuo. Tried all objects, worked out just fine.

Just to confirm, this is still happening (five years later) in 2024 - with a fix promised for next beta version.
