Civil 3D 2015 file into 3ds Max 2018/19

Are there any known errors bringing older VSP3D files into newer versions of 3DS Max? I've done this process before with previous versions of Max but for some reason, I'm getting a 'This VSP3D file is incompatible' error message now.

I've got a 255mb Civil 3D 2015 file which consists of 6 x 1m DTM TIN Surfaces only, with an 'Outer' Boundary polyline clipping each to the area I want. I've exported to 3DS Max using the function which creates a .VSP3D file for me (114mb).

However, when I try to bring this in via Civil View in 3DS Max 2018/19, I'm getting a compatibility error which I've not come up against before. Difficult to tell if its the export from Civil3D which isn't correct, or, if the new versions of Max just doesn't like it coming from 2015. Anyone?
