VertexPaint "Vertex Color Display - Shaded" messes up the lighting on the model, making it impossible to vertex paint properly.

Title. Whenever I try and use VertexPaint, selecting the afformentioned ViewMode, my models shadow reverses.

Disabled.

This happens to any model in any scene. Any help would be appreciated.

Hm, looks like inverted normals.

Can you post an example .max file?

Thanks for the file. It seems to work fine for me:

All I do is

  • select the middle piece
  • apply a VertexPaint modifier
  • switch to "shaded" display in the VertexPaint
  • start painting

Maybe this is related to your graphics card/drivers?
