Using MassFX with a linked object / path constraint

Hello,

I'm trying to animate a spacecraft landing on an asteroid.

The asteroid is moving on an ellipse through path constraint. Linked to the asteroid is my spacecraft (link constraint), until the frame, where the landing shall happen and massFX initiates the dynamic rigid body of the spacecraft.

My problem is, when the link stops, the spacecraft just stops with zero movement and does not have the initial orbit movement.

Is there a solution where I can animate this, and still have the initial orbit movement included or at least can use the "calculate at current time" option of MassFX?

Thanks in Advance!

Greetings,

Marvin

The Rigid Body Type->Kinematic->Until Frame [n] on the spacecraft should work.

Thanks for the answer!

My error was in trying to make this work while linked to a dummy, but applying the massFX rigid body to the Spacecraft.

When applying the path constraint directly to the Spacecraft, it works as you said! 🙂
