Does anyone know of a way to get the automatic animation mapping to work with CAT layers?
Disclaimer: I'm aware that CAT has its own system for saving and loading animation - but I can't always use it, because you're extremely limited by the fact that you cannot choose precisely what to save - you're either only saving the single bone with its hierarchy, or only saving the entire rig. Often, I find this built-in solution to lack basic functionalities such as selecting whatever controls you'd like, and only save them!
So I find myself spending a lot of time with the "traditional" save animation option, manually mapping the incoming animation to each CAT bone. However, the keys comes from a different CAT layer, and I can't get the automatic mapping options to work (exact name / closest name / hierarchy).
Is CAT just so forgotten by the devs, that even something as simple as loading animation is a huge timesink?
Example: make two CAT layers. Animate something on one cat layer. Save the animation (menu > animation > save animation). Go to the other layer, and load the animation (menu > animation > load animation). You'll be asked to create a map file. And because of the "CAT layer paths" perhaps, you cannot use the automatic mapping functionality - which I find completely ridiculous.
Does anyone know of a solution, or workaround is also good, to this problem?
