Vault can currently control editing restrictions on documents by the ITEM that they are attached to. However, this means that all the lifecycle and revision properties are contained in the ITEM and are not available for use in drawings of parts for example. What if there could be a simple check box option that when you attach parts to an ITEM it would treat the system lifecycle and revision properties of both as a group and keep them in sync in real time? This way we could still have the power of ITEMs for BoM exports and one place to manage lifecycles but have these properties available in drawings of parts or Vault Data Cards inside Inventor.
