Hi,
I have just been dealing with a support request regarding the amount of time that the Vault Web Client can be left inactive and idle before it automatically logs out. Initially I pointed out the WikiHelp like below that describes the Advanced Configuration Settings and how to Increase Timeout Values.
WikiHelp - Manage Advanced Vault Server Settings
Although after trying changing some of the settings mentioned on the the link, the Vault Web Client session timeout did not change accordingly.
After spending some time looking into this, and through some trial & error processes, I though I would share some of my findings and hopefully get people's opinion on this.
I was fiddling about with a few variables and their values from within the web.config files and the IIS Manager settings. But In the end what seems to dominate the amount of time the Vault Web Client page can be left alone (idle) before it times out and logs off, is in a setting within the file below:
- Edit the file below with Notepad:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS Professional 2013\Server\Web\WebClient\web.config
- Locate the line below and Change the timeout value to desired time in minutes
<forms name="AuthCookie" loginUrl="Login.aspx" timeout="15" slidingExpiration="true" defaultUrl="default.aspx">
- Then Run CMD.exe from start menu and execute MS-Dos command IISRESET
Wait for process to complete and log in the Vault Web Client to test the timeout behavior.
Hope this helps with any similar issues - Here are some other useful links on the subject...
