Creating separate files for MEP disciplines

My boss has just told me the architect wants separate revit files for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.  Usually I would create worksets to separate the disciplines and work within one file, but since the file is so big, we are making separate files for each discipline.  If I would like to combine the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing files in the future to use for clash detection between each discipline, is this possible?

Yes you will have to go to the collaborate tab click on interference check and then selext the appropriate links from the drop down.
