I had a customer inquiry which I thought was worth posting. Revit and Revit LT SP2 updates would not install via the Autodesk update manager.
The Update is a part install and some circumstances, you may be asked to provide the original installation source. As some of you will have downloaded and installed Revit 2016 from the web and later deleted the extracted files (default location of extracted files is C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2016), the service pack may not be able to continue. In that case, you should follow the procedure below:
- Obtain the Web download file and save it to your computer.
- Double click the download file and allow it to extract its files, noting where they are being saved.
- When the Autodesk Revit installer screen appears, click "Cancel".
- Download the SP2 from your Autodesk account to a local folder/drive
- Find the folder where you saved the service pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
- When the installation is completed, the following message will be displayed: "The Service Pack was successfully installed “
After Service Pack 2 is applied successfully, the build number should be 16.0.490.0. Hope this helps some of you. ![]()
