We inherited a set of drawings, and there's an elevation we cannot find its reference tag on the plans. I need to figure out which floor plan sheet the elevation tag was placed. Is there a way I can reverse lookup from the elevation view/ elevation sheet? I tried "find referring view" but it did not seem to yield the results I need.
Thanks.
After placing an elevation into the project, the elevation tag should display in all plan views that are visible from the elevation (regardless of which view it was originally placed into) i.e. if the elevation crop includes Levels 2-6, then the elevation tag should be visible in plan views associated with those levels.
If you are not seeing the elevation tag in plan views (associated with levels seen within the elevation), it may have been hidden. Try going through the following steps to find it:
If tag is not showing up after going through the steps above, you could try isolating it (in the plan view), and also check if there is a visibility graphic override, view filter, or phase filter that would prevent the tag from displaying.
Lance,
Thank you for the reply, however, the issue I am trying to address is not finding the elevation tag in the plan view; but instead I need to find out if the tag was placed on the previously issued contract drawings.
Here's what I am tackling:
One of the contractors is arguing that the elevation is not part of his scope because the reference tag for that particular elevation is not placed in the contract drawing.
Currently, the elevation tag element is hidden on the architectural floor plan, however, it may be visible in other floor plan sheets (e.g. interior finish plan, room enlarged plan, etc)
Instead of flipping through the entire drawing set, I am hoping I can run a schedule/report that would give me a list of all the reference tags placed in the rvt file, and verify if the elevation tag was placed in any of the contract drawings.
Please let me know if there is anyway I can verify whether the tag was part of the contract drawings. Thank you very much for your help.
I am not aware of a schedule that would report on the visibility state of an elevation tag with respect to each view in the project.
Note: When you say you want a "list of all the reference tags placed in the rvt file," each elevation view (reference tag) is only placed into the RVT file once. The visibility of this tag within each view will be determined by many other factors.
While researching this, I found the following blog posting that lists 33 different things to check to determine why a particular element is not visible within a view:
