I have modeled up a mudroom/kitchen in Revit. In my rendering it seems as if nothing is touching anything else. The walls seem to float and the cabinet piece that I modeled looks to have gaps between the sides and the wall. In plan it fits perfectly in the space as that is the size I modeled it at. I had taken an ootb base cabinet and manipulated it (to the extreme) to make this cabinet piece that fits in the space. At one time I had even moved the side walls in to overlap the cabinet a little to see if that helped the problem, but it didnt. I am thinking this is beyond just an optical illusion. I have attached the rendered photo and maybe someone has an idea on how to overcome this floating look. Thanks in advance.
Hi, It does seems like it is an optical ilusion created by the lighting.
In the rvt file, please cut a section through the walls and cabinet. Do you see them floating?
Try changing the material of the floor and walls to see if the result is different.
Can you post a sample file so I can try rendering on my end?
The section checks out and nothing is floating. I have even overlapped some things i.e made the wall offset deeper into the floor etc. I applied a different material to the walls and had no luck. I may try some other materials later. My revit file is huge as it is the whole house. I do not know if theres a way to send just a portion of it. I suppose I could copy and paste that section of the house into a new file, but I am afraid it may not give the same result as something somewhere may have an effect on it, or maybe I am just paranoid.
