Visibility issues with an Electrical Equipment Family detail item.

Good afternoon

I am having such issues getting the detail item 'symbol' in the below Electrical Equipment family to be visible in project plan view.

I'm sure its going to be something simple I have just missed but I completely stumped.

I'm in REVIT full 2022

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

If you mount it to a Face of a wall you will likely need to put the symbol in the "FRONT" view of the family.

@curtisridenour Ok so it has to be something simple - I have it in a project and it looks like this .....nothing.JPG

@curtisridenour Oh my goodness it was that! Thank you - knew it would be something silly.

Its odd because the other family's I've edited on the same surface were happy with ref view symbols - but I'm not going to question it now its working.

Thank you!

I think the difference is you are using a Detail Item instead of a Generic Annotation. Detail Items are important if you want to have the Size be accurate like a wall mounted light that is 2 feet wide. Symbols are often annotations so they show the same size on the sheet regardless of the scale of the view.

@curtisridenour This makes so much sense. I hadn't made the connection.

I'm working on a bunch of family's created by someone else so they all have their own induvial quirks.

I'm going to swap it out for a generic annotation.

Much appreciated.
