  ReCap Pro currently lacks support for cubical (cube-map) panoramic images, which is the standard image format used by Leica Cyclone and several other scanning platforms to generate panoramic views. This creates a significant workflow limitation, especially when sharing data with clients who rely on ReCap Pro or when reusing panoramic images outside the original software ecosystem. I also want to highlight an important point communicated by Leica on September 1st: “E57 unstructured (single cloud/separate setups) does contain waypoints and pano information. However, ReCap cannot read it due to a limitation in the ReCap SDK. This issue is not solely dependent on Leica, so we are unsure when or if it will be resolved.” This means that even when pano data is correctly embedded according to the E57 specification, ReCap Pro is unable to utilize it. As a result, a large amount of useful metadata becomes inaccessible in Autodesk workflows. We kindly request that Autodesk address these limitations by: Adding support for cube-map panoramic images, or enabling automatic conversion to equirectangular panoramas; and Updating the ReCap SDK so it can properly read and use pano and waypoint information from E57 unstructured files. These enhancements would significantly improve interoperability, reduce manual conversion steps, and make ReCap Pro far more flexible in multi-vendor scanning workflows. Show More

Hi everyone,   I’ve noticed that when opening a point cloud in ACC (via ReCap), the default point size is set to 3. This results in a rather vague view, which can be confusing for colleagues who are not familiar with working in ReCap or with point clouds. Explaining to each person how to adjust the settings isn’t ideal, as many colleagues have other priorities. Since the available data is intended to make their work easier, I’d like to suggest changing the default point size for ReCap point clouds from terrestrial laser scans to 1 mm.   This adjustment would make the data much clearer and more useful for everyone involved in the process. Currently, ReCap does not support axis-specific scaling, including negative scale factors. To address issues like inverted or swapped axes in point clouds, users can use external tools such as CloudCompare or follow workarounds like flipping axes during import or using advanced settings in ReCap Pro. It would be useful if ReCap supported axis-specific scaling, including negative scale factors. This feature is essential for correcting point clouds that are upside down or have swapped axes due to registration or source data errors. Currently, ReCap only offers basic rotations on fixed planes, which is insufficient for these cases. For example, applying a scale of Z:-1 is a simple and effective way to fix inverted models without relying on external tools like CloudCompare. Adding this capability would improve workflow efficiency and give users better control over model orientation directly within ReCap. Show More

I need the ability to be able to Promote more than just one mesh to Revit family in the ReCap plugin for Revit. Right now, I can only promote one at a time and when I go to combine them into a single family, the origins are reset and no way to put the pieces back together again currently.  Thoughts? Am I doing something wrong? If I choose only one like shown below, I'm able to perform Promote to Family: If I choose more than one as shown below, I'm unable to run Promote to Family: It breaks when trying to combine the two after the fact due to reset origins. Because of this, we're stuck with SketchUp models for now. Autodesk, you're so close on this one! Just one more feature and I can totally use this!    Show More

Recap can be used without a license to display existing files. But you get an Autodesk account login window that you have to click away if you don't have an Autodesk account.  Revit and Inventor have a viewing mode for such an application. For Recap I would like to have a viewing mode where you can open the files without the Autodesk login window.   Show More

The default dark grey background in the Mesh Editor can hinder visibility and precision during mesh editing and classification tasks, especially in low-light environments or when working with darker mesh elements. Introduce a background color customization feature within the Mesh Editor, allowing users to select from a range of contrasting colors—similar to the flexibility offered in Autodesk ReCap. The new classification system in ReCap Pro 2026 is causing significant delays during the saving process — even when classifications are not needed. For users working with clean scan data intended for external modeling or analysis (e.g., Scan-to-BIM workflows), these delays add unnecessary processing time with no benefit. Previous versions (e.g., ReCap 2023) allowed for greater control — either skipping classification entirely or canceling it mid-process. Please consider adding a toggle or checkbox in project settings or preferences to disable classification and bypass "saving classifications" during save/export operations. This would greatly improve performance for power users and professionals who need speed and simplicity over automated classification. Reintroducing this control would be a welcome return of functionality that many relied on in earlier versions. Show More

It would be good if we had the option to open the online Recap projects in the Real view by default, or to select the option which view to open by default. Now that we have upload the RCS files (compared to the previous possibility to upload Real Views only), users have been saying that it’s confusing to not get the Realview-view first. Show More

I am extremely disappointed that Recap Photo does not allow local processing line the former Remake program. I have invested heavily in my high-end computer system and it erks me that I have to pay you to process files that I can process myself. I suggest that you reinstate local processing. Show More
