Where to put .cps files for Fusion 360

Hello!

I've successfully customized my post-processor, but I'm wondering where the correct location is to place them for an OS X install of Fusion 360. I've previously been placing them in /Users/MyName/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/production/version hash/Libraries/Applications/CAM360/Data/Posts, but that's obviously problematic, because every time a version changes those get lost.

Sorry for the trivial question, but I can't seem to find the right place.

I have been using the cloud posts and have had no issue with it, but you can store it locally...

Okay, got it! For anybody in the future that finds this thread, the location is not /Users/username/Fusion 360 CAM/Posts. The correct location on OS X is /Users/username/Autodesk/Fusion 360 CAM/Posts (despite that both folders are created by the installer).

You can store your customized posts anywhere on your computer locally and select the right folder during post processing, see screenshot attached.

Does it work like that on a Mac? I thought you could only use 'Default Posts' or 'Personal Posts'?

On the mac you have three sources: Generic (buried deep in the folder structure of the install), Local or personal (usually modified ones) in the folder indicated by 542458, and Cloud posts - essentially copies of what you normally use stored on A360.

Since I don't really trust the install procedure on the Mac, I keep additional, separate copies of modified posts in another, less vulnerable location.

Personally I would say put them in the Cloud post folder. Since it's a cloud product and having your posts locally voids the purpose of the cloud. But I have no experience in how well that works.

And what you say here Fred, having a back-up is always a good idea for personalized posts. I even do this for the post folder(Not the default program files folder) I use at work.

Thanks for the info 🙂 Useful to know! I don't spend as much time as I'd like on my mac, so haven't had much time to get used to the OSX / fusion workflow 😞

Hi, I'd like to post to the cloud but can't seem to get the CAMpost folder to show up in A360 under Data.

I don't get the Folders that Curtis has visible under Data tab.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi I'm using Fusion360 OSX and don't find the window corresponding to your attached screenshot? Want to select a post processor file on my hard drive. Any ideas where to look?

ps have tried the cloud option as explained by @HughesTooling

Since his post the interface for A360 has radically evolved but my .cps is now in the appropriate place in the cloud. However 1hour later and despite restarts it's still not appeared in F360. ;(

Going to find a different workaround to mill my part.

I don't think it's changed too much from that post.

After enabling A360 Drive in your settings you will have this option to view files on A360 Drive.

In A360 Drive Fusion should have created these folders.

Clicking the posts folder should give you this.

Yes, that's the one!

Now the Post processor has finally synced to the Offline Software so all well and good.

What I couldn't find was the dialog to enable direct import from the Hard Drive to Fusion360 offline?

Could only find the options below... (OSX)

I am new to CNC but have a Weihong NK105G2 handset for my AccTek AKG6090 and followed the forum link below to get the .cps file.

How do I now access / add this custom .cps to the Fusion360 Post Process 'Post Configuration' drop down menu?

I like having a local folder of my custom post processors. When you hit the post process button at the top you can path it to that local folder and it will always default to that after the first post process.
