NWD export

Dear community.

I currently use Autodesk Revit 2014. I would like to export .rvt file to .nwd file (naviswork) but I don't know how to do.

Anyone can show me?

Thank you very much

Hi,

 To have *.nwd file from *.rvt file;

  • Open Navisworks and Open the Revit file in Navisworks.
  • You will see this will create a cache  file with the same name *.nwc in the same folder.
  • Than save the navisworks file and select *.nwd for the file extension.
  • You may append more revit files to the same *.nwd if require.

OR, if you have Navisworks installed after and on the same computer, you should have a plug-in in Revit to export as NWC file. This NWC file contains more properties than the one that would be created by the process explaind by Daniel.
Next steps are the same: Start Navisworks.
Append the NWC files you need.
Save AS NWD.
You could also Publish as NWD and then the NWD can have a password and even an expire date.

More generally you need either Navisworks Simulate or Manage available to publish an NWD file.  It cannot be done straight from Revit.

Can I apply  the same with linked Revit models?

hi dgorsman

is this still the case that you need either navisworks simulate or manage to publish a .NWD file?

thanks, Alina
