Before the 2016 update, balloons in .idw would automatically snap to a 15 deg without holding CTRL. After that update it only snaps when holding CTRL with no option to change that back. I would like to see an option that allows users to be able to choose what is default. In my case, I love the snap and don't want to have to hold CTRL every single time, especially for views with many balloons.
