I have a 3d proe assembly and would like to cut a cross-section from 3d model to do 2d analysis in CFD. I am new to Inventor fusion and trying since couple of days but not successful. I am not sure if this can be done or not in fusion but might have some round about ways to do this using both fusion and simulation CFD. Any ideas which could be of help will be appreciated.
I have a 3d proe model(.asm file) and opened in fusion. I would like to cut a crosssection of the model and have a 2d version.
Sorry about the confusion.
I am asking what file type do you wish Fusion to create from your 3D .asm file? (so it can be opened in CFD)
Have you tried the following:
I don't know CFD but it should be able to ignore solids and look at just the 2D profile in the sketch.
If not, you might have to delete the solid body in Fusion and leave the sketch visible. The dwg contains the sketch curves only at this point.
