We recently obtained second monitors. Since then we occasionally get gray blocks in the Inventor browser.
Bad
Good
Is this a graphics card issue?
Is it a bad cable or adaptor?
Is it the monitors?
This machine has NVIDIA Quadro 2000 graphics card. The monitors are plugged into the ports as shown below. The screen resolution is set to 1680x1050x59 hertz per monitor. The monitors are ACER V226WL.
Thank you.
I get those occasionally, and have for quite some time. I don't really know what causes it, but it seems like Inventor isn't 100% compatible with the Windows 7 Aero theme. I use the Aero anyway because I like it, and the few inconveniences with Inventor aren't enough to change my mind.
Whenever this happens to me, I just minimize my Inventor window, then restore it and it goes back to the way it should look.

I find it interesting that you have the same graphics card that I do. I am not using the aero theme. Does this not happen when you activate a different theme? Are you using the same ports in the card that I indicated I am using?
I see this, too. I have a different graphics card from either of you and unlike Cameron, I do not run the Windows Aero theme because I don't like it.

I see this on IE once in a while, but never in Inventor. My toolbars vanish, but if I run the mouse over them they reappear.

Yes, I am using the same ports as you.
For a long time, I just used the old XP-style theme (in Windows 7). I don't remember if it happened then, but I don't think so. I eventually switched to the Aero look. I don't know if it would stop if I switched to a non-Aero theme. I'll try it for a few days to see if it makes a difference, then post back.

Inventor 2014
We learned at AU that Inventor 2013 has a program flaw that prohibits the videocard from fully utilizing its capability. This program flaw is fixed in 2014. I am hoping that this is not an issue when we upgrade to 2014. However, some of you that have contributed to this thread are already using 2014 are are experiencing the lose of image on your monitors.
