Constrain to workplane and point on 3d sketch

Hello.

Relatively new to Inventor, and have an issue that baffles me:

When using a 3d sketch as basis for a workplane (select line + select end point),

I cannot constrain a 2d sketch on the newly created workplane to the end point of 3d sketch. Also tried creating a point a the end point of 3d sketch.

Thanks,

Morten

Use 2D sketches instead of 3D.  The model will be more stable and less problem later.

Most 3D sketch can be done with multiple 2D sketches.

Except spiral/helix.

A plane on 3D line could and will rotate around that line.

You have no control when and how it'll rotate.

When editing the new 2D sketch, project a point from the 3D Sketch for your new sketch.

Now you have a 3D geometry reference in your 2D Sketch.

Thanks, the project point did the trick. Rotation not an issue here, because they are used for pipe sweeps.
