Combing tool not selecting what want to just subtract.

Hey guys,

I am making a wheel in Autodesk Inventor 2014 and there are some extrutions within it that I want to delete, I have been told I should use the combine tool but t selects two things at once and i'm struggling. please see if you can help!

Thanks!

As you can see in the screenshot I want to delete the yellow extruded bits.

For Base you have to select only the Rim.

For Toolbody you have to select the tubes.

On the right side you have to must choose the Cut function.

Press OK and the holes are created within the Rim.

Thanks for replying!

Will do!

I have tried to only select what I am supposed to but they just join together as a base. As for the tubes they are somehow interlinked with the rim so wont allow me to remove it unless it takes the rim with it.

Take a look into your Browser

I think you already did a Combine action with the Join setting in stead of the Cut setting.

Have you installed the latest Service Pack and Update for your version of Inventor?

Even though I attached a possible "solution" - you are going about this all wrong.
