With a student license, you have the ability to install any software on two machines (meant for one local, and one on the go) as long as they are not running at the same time. If you wish to keep both licenses, use the license tranfer utility (LTU) located in the software of choice's directory. If you are buying a capable workstation, you should be fine with running the software and transfering/installing the license without a hitch.
