I am looking for a way to disable the desktop analytics popup that happens on first software start. I would like to do this either via a setting in the deployment, or a registry change that could be pushed out voa a grou policy or something similar..
I on't want the users to see and click this box. I understnad it is a simple command when logged in on the workstation, but we are talking dozens and dozens of workstations/users.
Thsnk you!
Thanks, should have mentioned, I found it too, can't figure out if this is supposed to be turning Desktop Analytics On/Off (it is not doing that for me), or just prevent the screen from coming out?
I see no change in ACAD behavior whether I set the value to 0 or 1, the CIP check mark stays the same in ACAD, the notification screen does not come up on startup.
Anyone actually tried this?
THX!
🙂 Thanks.
Familiar with this one too, that is exactly what I want to avoid doing on many many workstations... Any idea if this thing can be turned off during deployment setup?
Hi JanSako
Did you ever find the registry key(s) or how to disable the Desktop Analytics Program from popping up. We are a large organisation with thousands of desktops running at least 5/7 Autodesk applications and would like to disable this. I know it is not the same as the CIP. I have also had a look at a number of forums outside of Autodesk, including
http://www.jtbworld.com/autocad2015.htm
and http://www.harrycaskey.com/disable-autodesk-customer-involvement-program-cip/
neither were of help regarding DAP. I have also had a browse throuh the various ini files after the deployment application is created but DAP is not there or I am missing it.
Any worthwhile suggestions before I send this to Autodesk Support.
much appreciated.
cheers
Had a support case with Autodesk back in January, the conclusion was:
They say there is no registry key or other setting that governs the Desktop Analytics, and so it cannot be turned off 'en masse'.
As an alternate solution, they say that disabling the communications center will disable the DA as well:

I hope this will be acceptable as a workaround...
There is a regkey that controls this.. despite what Autodesk Tells ya.
create a new .reg text file and paste this in
============================================================
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\MC3]
"ADAOptIn"=dword:00000000
"ADARePrompted"=dword:00000001
============================================================
It is a per user setting, so you could add this as a GPO.
To reenable, just toggle the Reprompted to 0, or flip the optin to 1.
The ADARePrompted will cause the notification about Desktop Analytics to be displayed like first boot.
The ADAOptin would enable it without causing a redisplay of the notification.
The following were imported to the default user profile. That solved it for me. No secret CIP window after the nth launch of AutoCAD 2015
[HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Software\Autodesk\MC3]
