After installing an Autodesk program, it asks to activate instead of pulling a network license.
This means that the program was installed as a standalone version on the end user machines, which is why it is asking you to activate instead of pulling a license from the server.
To resolve this issue, you will need to uninstall the program from the end user machine, reboot the computer, and reinstall it as a network licensed version.
When you get to the configuration button screen in the installation wizard, click that to get your option to change it from standalone to network and to put your server information in.
If you try to skip this step, a pop-up dialog will ask if you are sure you want to use the default settings. You do NOT want to use the defaults; this is how you got the standalone installation. Go back one screen and click on the configuration button.
