Installation error

First off, I am appalled at the lack of service from Autodesk.  This is how it works, I bought your product, I should be able to download your product immediately, but waiting over 24 hours?  And then to have it give me errors during install?  Then  to top it all off It supposedly comes with advanced support, but can't find a phone number or chat room to save my life.  After 1/2 an hour I finally find a phone number, and I swear they purposefully kept me on hold long enough for their shift to end and hung up on me.  No chat service available and stuck with the community?  I bought a product, it is not installing or downloading correctly.  Please help!

Hello jamesR94DZ and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you are stuck at the activation/installation step while attempting to download software, or are having problems with starting your software immediately after installing. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Communication Failure message during download and installation - Note that this article also provides alternate downloading and installation methods.

Application Manager Update stuck at installing

In order to manually activate your software (in cases where the activation appears stuck), please refer to Manually Activating Your Autodesk Software.

If the activation window is not displayed, others have resolved this by completely uninstalling and reinstalling their software. Please refer to How to Remove all Software from a Windows System for assistance.

Welcome to the community

I understand your frustration but this is a user forum and although Autodesk does monitor these forums, it doesn't mean they will actually see your posting/issue/frustration.

If you have problems your best response is to come here first.  Smiley Wink  Granted you have adv support and stuff but users like @TravisNave, @Darin.Green, others, and myself can sometimes give you a faster response if your struggling or waiting for Autodesk.   Maybe we would end up telling you to go to Autodesk but that way you know your on the right track.

If you were trying to install your product through your Autodesk Account that is most likely causing the issue.

Instead download and install per

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent (link is in my signature) and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

Good luck on your installation.

Update:  If you do have adv support all that information is in your Autodesk Account

Mark,

Wanted to say thank you for taking the time to answer this.  I've been swamped since I finally go the download to work, but do appreciate the help.

Thanks!
