Hello,
I have a computer with AutoCAD 2014 installed on it.
Due to an external company having a VBAchecker which only works in AutoCAD 2012 or older.
I wish to try and install 2012 back onto the same PC but not entirely sure of the process or if its possible.
Could someone please advise?
Thank You
Hi Michael,
Welcome to the forums.
You can use Autodesk Virtual Agent to download ACAD 2012 installer, but to license it you need have ACAD 2014 on subscription.
1.Go to http://www.autodesk.com.
2.At the bottom of the page, beneath "Help and Support," click "Customer Service."
3.Click the "Ask" button.
4.In the Virtual Agent window, click "Downloading and Installation."
5.Click "Software Download links." Then click "I need to redownload my product."
6.Click on “AutoCAD Products”
7.Click the appropriate product to start downloading.
How to request a license to use previous versions of Autodesk software on Subscription.
Best regards
Hi,
Ok so doing this will i beable to keep both versions on the pc at once?
Also i have the 2012 cd which i tried to use to re-install but was coming up with an error.
Thanks
Hi again,
I have tried to install the download and an error occurs.
"the system cannot open the device or file specified. C:\Users\MVALEN~1\AppData\Local\Temp\_AI2E20.tmp\x86\en-us\Components\adr2012\SetupDesignReview2012.msi"
Is this conflicting with 2014?
Thank You
Hi Michael,
Yes, you can have 2012 and 2014 installed on your PC side by side.
Regarding “the system cannot open the device or file Specified” error that’s typically relates to TrendMicro antivirus blocking the installer.
Here is the link to the post we have on our Up and Ready blog.
Best regards,
