Revert Working version of revision-controlled items - PERMISSONS

Revert Working version of revision-controlled items - PERMISSONS

A new functionality in F360M is released on August 14th, 2023.

Working version of revision-controlled items can now be reverted to match the latest revision. This is available for unlocked items, this means, Working Version will be reverted. This is a useful feature when many changes have been made and they are not needed and all changes must be set on the origin value. This means, that there is no need to compare or check the change log nesessary.

The big issue is. That any user can do this functionality. That is dangerous. There needs to be a way to set and control it.
In Revert Workflow action, it is solved with permissions. If you have not the permission to do it, the function is not available and it can not be done by the user.
Many user will test, what happen with the new function. So they will test it or will trigger it without consciously wanting to do it.

That any user can revert Workflow, is a big trouble. Permissions are needed for a better collaboration between different users.

It is important to control the usage of this feature! Please adjust to restrict the usage for selected roles/permissions.

Our customers also reported that the new "Revert Working Version" function can be triggered even if a user has only Basic-Access to the tenant without a licence! This is completely unsafe, because it can manipulate data without seeing the changes in the change log. This feature definitively needs to be controlled by a "Special Admin Permission" similiar to "Revert Workflow" like described. This needs to be fixed ASAP!

We are currently looking into this, and will come up with a solution in an upcoming release. Meanwhile, please create a support ticket if you'd like the feature to be disabled in your tenant until it can be controlled with a permission.

@patrick.fluegge , Although the button is visible, revert fails with a permission error for users with Basic access. Please respond if you see a different behavior. As first step, changes will be made so that revert button is not visible to users with Basic Access.
