Importing Wires entity type from STEP files in Fusion 360

Importing Wires entity type from STEP files in Fusion 360

Currently Fusion 360 imports only Surfaces and Solids entity types from STEP files. Wires and Points entity types are not imported, while Inventor can do. We ask to include the ability to import at least Wires entity from STEP files in Fusion 360. That is useful for same applications, e.g. importing STEP files produced by optical design programs like ZEMAX storing light rays as wires in the STEP files. I'm sure other user can report different application cases.

I agree.  Wire format for IGES/STEP import should be supported.  I'm also a Zemax user with the same problem (optical rays are represented as wires, but they do not import in Fusion 360).  For now, I use a free online viewer (3dvieweronline.com) which works fine.  For example, here is an optical system IGES file when viewed with this free tool:

and the same IGES file when imported into Fusion 360:

The missing optical rays (wires), renders Fusion 360 much less useful for this type of work!
