Search for " User Defined Property Classifications " in Help. We don't use them but that's supposed to be the way to handle it. You could also create an External Data Reference (XDref) to hold the additional attributes

Out of the Box C3D only uses variations of the PNEZD format;but you can create your own User Defined Properties and create your own custom data columns and a correspoding import format to go with it.

Todd, you had me at att2. 😉
Haha. I actually created this for a customer and they needed 10 of them.
I am have trouble with civil 3d displaying all my attributes.
it works when i first imprt them, but after a few days they all disapear.
does anyone have a sulution, reimporting is time consuming verytime this happens, as i have 4,000 points in my file and putting them back in the right layers and using the right symbols takes a long time.
Todd,
That is awesome! Well done!

Wow, that was really helpful. I followed your steps completely. The only problem is when I import my points, nothing shows up. Do I have a setting turned off or something? I am working with Civil 3D 2014.
Thanks
SF,
You'll probably need to post your drawing to figure out what happened. Lots of things to check.

Hi SP,
Without diving into you drawing or your data used for import, I will suggest you check a few things that may be causing this.
1st Make sure you don’t have a point that is further out than the data you want to view, For example you may have a point at 0,0. You can also look within the drawing point editor to see if you have points imported and if they are in there select one and zoom to it.
2nd Make sure you are importing data by the way of a survey database and within that database survey settings you have the process line work and insert survey points options checked. You can check your survey database points within the survey tab in prospector to see if those points are within its database and if so you can select the selected points and figures you want to view within the database and then right click on the selected items then select points on the fly out dialog then you will have an option to insert into the drawing. If you select figures and highlight the ones you want to view and then right click then you will see an option to insert in the drawing.
3rd Make sure prior to import your survey database import routine is using the correct figure prefix library and line code set usually configured within the survey database settings. Within the drawing make sure the Desc key file is the one you want to use and corresponds with the raw coding used in the data you are importing.
4th Something simple like layers all set to frozen or off.
5th Update you point groups and see if they have the correct point style and point label style set for them.
Those are some of the problem I have experienced before hopefully one of these cures your problem.
Good Luck
John
Thank you for the replies. The problem was my override settings in the point group. Once I set the override for the point label style to be checked I got all the labels I expected. Thanks again.
