Right click failure in Architectural Desktop

im a student in upstate ny. Myself and two classmates have experienced a loss of our right mouse click. for months it was prompting us the short cut menu. then for no reason it no longer responds to this. it brings up the basic menu with out functions like erase and move etc. if anyone else experienced this please let me know if there is a way to fix it. thank you. there is no way im paying a multi-billion dollar company $64 for technical support. what a joke.thanks for the input.

Check the value of the PICKFIRST system variable. It should be set to 1.

No charge.

First of all, I guess the problem is not so bad
that you really need the solution.  Autodesk charges $64.00 per
incident.  You can talk as long as you want on the phone for that
$64.00.  Also you can call back over and over for the same incident without
an additional charge.  If you call the typical AutoCAD reseller for tech
support you will pay something like $120 per hour, or $2.00 or $2.50 per
minute.  Of course, since they are not multi-billion dollar companies,
maybe you will find that more acceptable.

I wish I could get rid of my right-click so
easy.

You might also be experiencing the noun-verb,
verb-noun selection option.  If you go to the Tools > Options >
Selection TAB, make sure that under the Selection Modes that Noun/verb selection
is checked.  If this is unchecked there is a known bug in AutoCAD 2002 that
will cause some of the right click functions to disappear.

See if that is or is not your problem.

The other next place to look is the Tools >
Options > User Preferences > Right-click Customization.

If this doesn't do it and no one here gives you any
other ideas, or none of the additional ideas is the key one that works, then you
will have to decide whether or not it is worth paying Autodesk their $64.00 or
to call a reseller and pay them their charges.  Or ask your
buddies.

Have a good day tomorrow.

Jack

Yeah, but for the $10,000 per semester tuition, he
gets a free internet connection that allows him to log into this NG, gripe a
little and get back three possible explanations of what's wrong (mine was posted
in response to his identical post in the content newsgroup, plus yours and
Matt's).

Now which is really more cost effective - $64 to
call tech support and gripe in person, or $10,000 to get sympathy from You,
Matt, and me.  In fact, maybe he'll get Dennis, and Mark Webb, and Jim Awe
jumping in.  Seriously, why spend $64, when you can get this kind of
support for only $10,000.
