Carrier MvParts on www.marinsoft.com

Old news to some:

Marinsoft, a software and content developer for the building industry, uses
Autodesk i-drop and its own suite of content authoring tools to provide
access to content from well-known, industry leading manufacturers. Products
include Carrier Centurion Rooftop Units and Integrity® Window and Doors by
Marvin, with more products planned for the future. Marinsoft's initiative
represents the first delivery of multi-format content that includes Autodesk
Architectural Desktop styles and multi-view blocks as well as Autodesk
Building Systems multi-view parts. This information can be accessed free of
charge in the Manufacturers section of the Marinsoft home page
(http://www.marinsoft.com/).

I hope this helps!

Hello,
I've just tried Carrier Mv Part and I can't find any connectors there. Is it just MV Block with no connectors, or am I doing some thing wrong?
Tanks,
Natalia

Hi Peter. It definitely will help and I am going to be the first one
enjoying that. So far, however, the Carrier catalog seems pretty empty. The
only code available at Carrier catalog page seems , which is
kind of shy of information. Well, let's wait a little bit longer.

Hi Natalia,

Did you download and install the Marinsoft PartDrop Plugin first? You need
to have the plugin in order to access the MvPart information. If you did
install the plugin and are still only getting an MvBlock, which version of
ABS are you using? Does the Marinsoft PartDrop Plugin dashboard display
after you drop the part into your drawing?

Allen

Hi Allen,
Yes, I did down load plug-ins. When I "drop" equipment,
I shows file transfer and unit is there on the drawing nice
and pretty. But no connectors.
Thanks, Natalia

Hi Natalia,
Are you by any chance using the ABS 4 beta version? If not, what versions of
ABS, Windows, CPU, etc. do you have? The behavior you describe is the
behavior we would expect if you had not installed our plugin, or you were
using the ABS4 beta version.
Thanks,
Allen

HI All
let me give you some more information about Marinsoft part catalog

1. carrier Rooftop AHU and Kohler Plumbing Equipments are available on this site.
2. you dont need to install part drop plugin .it is used only for vanilla AutoCAD and not for AutoCADMEP.
3.parts Available are MV Parts with all connectios

you can download all the Parts directly in ACAD MEP2006 or 2005

open ABS2005 or 2006, and website as well
directly drag and drop the part in model space, it will also be added to your existing library for your database.

You may get an error if you try to do same in ABS2007 or higher version
try to use ABS2006/2005 to download them

then you can migrate the parts as the file format is changed in 2007 based products.

to do so please do as below

These errors occur because the DataVersion parameter for the older parts is not set to 5.0, which is the most recent version for the 2007 release. To change this parameter

1. Open the Catalog Editor.
2. In the Catalog Editor, open the catalog file that contains the older parts.
3. Press Ctrl+Shift+F5.
4. In the Parameter Search and Replace dialog box.
5. In the Action to Perform drop-down menu, select Search and Replace.
6. Set the values as shown in the image below.

Note: If you are migrating from a version prior to 2006, your previous data version may be different from 4.7. Select one of these older parts and look for the DV parameter, which is listed in the Constants for the part.
7. Click GO to start the routine. The search and replace operation may take some time. When the routine is finished, you will receive a report of how many parts were updated.
8. Save the catalog file and exit the Catalog Editor.
9. Run a Test Catalog operation on the catalog containing the older parts.

You should no longer receive Catalog Test errors.

please let me know if you still have any issues with it.

Thanks and regards,

Possible help for MVpart users:

GeniuSoft (http://geniusoftllc.com) is making MVparts of various manufacturer's equipment for use in mechanical designs. They also seem to be willing to make parts on-demand.
