From what I see, if I set up an OO.Base, I can't set up an ODBC connection to us it in Map3D. Is this correct, or does anyone have a pointer (other than MySQL / Oracle)?
Thanks!
yes, as far as I have found there's no ODBC options for open office. However, http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Database#Connecting
and http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Base_New_Driver_Tutorial looks hopeful, I just didn't work through it enough to say for sure.
Thanks, Nate. When I looked at the OO web before my posting, the 2008 help there indicated it was a "closed issue" of low priority as only 11 folks voted positive for it. What would it take to push for FDO to OO - M3D wishlist or elsewhere in the OpenGIS forumns?
Todd
It's probably best to push for it on the Open Office side of things - once there's an ODBC connector, Map and everything else will just see it in the ODBC list, same as the Access, SQL, etc options that are now available. Of course, it never hurts to ask on OSGeo...
