Xrefs not binding

I'm trying to bind Xrefs to the drawing but it won't allow it to happen. I select them and bind them and they disappear from the list but if I open the Xref manager again they're still there.

Try INSERT perhaps.

Unfortunately that didn't work, there are no xrefs in the referenced drawing, in fact I can't see any differences between it and the other 2 drawings that did bind.

By chance is anyone working in 2000 and you have an unpatched 2007? We had
that issue last week. Full 2007 for everyone is working it's way down
YIPPEE!!! Though I will still hold firm to my 2002 for those 'just in case
times'!

Andrew,

If the bind operation fails it is more than likely that the drawing that
you are trying to bind has a blank block name inside it.

This won't show up in the block list as its name is "" and is filtered out.
When you attempt to bind you will get an *Invalid* block name message
which you may or may not see.

Although the item will temporarily disappear from the
list this is only because this operation is independent of the bind itself.

The next time you call the Xref command the list is re-read.

To remove these blank block names open the drawing and wblock it over
itself.

Regards Gary

i am having the same issue with binding the drawings. the xref simply disappears! there are no blocks in the xref-ed drawing. once it's been bound the drawing disappears from the xref manager. any other ideas as to what it might be?

i have more than one xref in the drawing and only ONE disappears after being bound.

Are the XRef's the original parent XRef or are they XRef's (child) within the main (parent XRef?)

If so bind firstly in parent XRef then bind parent XRef in drawing..........confused?
