How to make dimensions associated

AUTOCAD 2010

All my dimensions are non-associative.

I tried to make them associative by using File - options - user preferences - make dimensions asociative.

It worked but I then lost the 1 : 20 scale applied in the dimension style.

I went back in the to dimension style and made sure the 1 to 20 scale applied.

But still when I add a dimension it multiplies up by 20 times.

Does anyone know how to make dimensions associative with messing up the scale.

Can you post the drawing. A 1:20 dim style will always be 20x what your line length actually is.

I wish I could but its confidential but I will try and post an extract on Monday.

Bassically its a dimension of 2000.

The viewport is at 1 to 20 do the dimension style is at 1 to 20 so comes in right.

But when I make it associative Autocad ignores my dimension style set at 1:20  and it comes in at 40000.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah that will happen. If you want your dim to stay associated you have to change the factor to 1:1
