Creating new layers

Sometimes when making a new layer, once I have named it and pressed enter, the name will revert to "Layer 1" and I won't be able to use it or do anything with it.

The Layer Description changes to what I selected but the Layer Name does not.

What would be causing this?

Your ACA version is...?
Your Windows version is...?
What's new or different with your computer today? Or is the problem limited to just one file but no others?

Using Autocad 2019 on Windows 7

Nothing has been changed on my PC and a colleague questioned this issue earlier today as well so it's not just my computer/software

I'm not seeing this issue in AutoCAD2019.1.2 version (the latest updates) here in Win10: since this is a "sometime" problem for you, does that mean it's likley just limited to one single file or during some other event?

Or can you replicate the problem right now in a new blank empty drawing?

BY chance when it happens, is your mouse pointer away from the LAYER command pop-up?

Is your R2019 fully updated to the version I listed above? Use ABOUT command to find out.

Hi,

<<<<<Sometimes when making a new layer, once I have named it and pressed enter, the name will revert to "Layer 1" and I won't be able to use it or do anything with it. >>>>>>

after revert to "Layer 1" close Layer and Reopen again you can see actual name you given.

Closing the layer tab and reopening does seem to solve this issue.

Thank you
