Custom PLC Child Component - Unable to Recognize Wire Numbers from Child Component

My goal is to have a child component behave similar to a PLC I/O component.

I am sure many of you know that the PLC I/O Module can automatically populate the wire numbers going into the I/O module with %F%S%N and "search for PLC I/O address on insert" checked under drawing properties.

I am hoping to make a child component behave the same way.  Unfortunately the wire numbering behavior is different.  I suspect this to be due to some kind of missing tag or link.  In this case I used F%FF S%SS N%NN to show the breakdown of how ACADE is reading this.  Has anybody encountered this before?  Is there a solution?

I attached the parent and child component I am using in case someone wants to test out my setup.

I appreciate the feedback.

The block names are completely off. They should start with PLCIO.

The only issue is that it loses the link to be a child component.

The child TAG-attribute must be "TAG2", not "TAG1". That might be the problem (Haven't looked at the files yet)
