Creating a shortcut - Key on the keyboard for specific tasks/commands

Hi There,

Im fairly new to AutoCAD and learning everyday.
in my set of drawings I use the retag/ update a lot. and I expect I will do that a lot more in the future.

Right now,  I go to the source or the destination arrow first, select the arrow,  then right click, then retag/update.

I want to create a short cut for that on my keyboard.  meaning I just have to select the arrow then press a key and that should update/retag.

can someone help with this ?

try the command AEUPDATESIGREF and enter for drawing wide, this might be a few too many letters to type

Thank you James,  great suggestion for that specific problem.

Im still thinking I want to create a short cut for specific function such as

Control +Shift +C ( for copying with a base).

Im thinking a buy a Macro Keyboard and assign few shortcuts to specific keys/Commands.
I will be surprised if no body tried this before.

not quite but thank you james

not quite because the only command available still initiates the dialog?

try the attached lisp, once loaded the command ABALSigref will provide single pick wire signal cross reference update.
