I've recently been upgraded to 2015 and finding the slider scroll bar on the layer drop down list quite difficult to select because its too narrow. Is there a way of changing the settings or dimensions of the slider to be more like a standard windows scroll bar?
Screenshot attached.
As far as I know, that's not possible. I'd offer two workarounds:
1) Use the scroll wheel on your mouse instead (assuming you have one).
2) Use the Layers toolbar instead, since its scrollbar is styled from the Windows setting (-Toolbar → type "Layers" → [Enter] → [Enter]. You can drag the toolbar up next to your quick access toolbar so it's out of the way.
This is another peeve I have with 2015... but it's not just the Layer dropdown, the scroll bar is also narrow and difficult to see and select in the Properties Palette, Tool Palettes... etc. In general, feature scaling in AutoCAD2015 is really bad.
I believe this is the same problem that I pointed out here.
I can't fathom any reason to make the controls more difficult to use.
I accept that your suggested workarounds are a way of dealing with the issue but if we have to use workarounds for this and similar issues then ultimately there would be no point in the scroll bar existing at all.
Instead of users devising workarounds to operate a very expensive piece of software it would be better if the software was just designed better to be easier to use. Why break something which worked fine before?
I sometimes wonder if the people who design the software actually try to use it before release, or are they more interested in gimicky graphics than actual functionality?
Here is where you would report issues to Autodesk:

Also, if you are on subscription, I would recommend filling out a ticket that way too.
