bar code 39 d hr or Free 3 of 9 not plotting

I can see the text with the bar code fonts in the drawing, but they don't display on any print to any of my printers, including PDF.

Any settings I should consider?  AutoCAD 2013

the obvious which you probably already checked is is it on a no plot layer?
